Terms & Conditions

The following Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings made via:

  • Telephone Bookings
  • Booking.com
  • Reception bookings (walk in)

We kindly ask that you take a moment to read them prior to signing our registration form.

The Company enters into this Agreement as principal for Bookings made for the Hotels it owns and as agent where a booking is made for a hotel that it operates on behalf of the Hotel Owner.

In these Terms and Conditions the following definitions apply:

  1. Definitions

''Company'' or ''we'' means The Anchor hotel and bars whose registered office is at 6 South Parade, Skegness, Lincolnshire, PE25 3HW.

''Booking'' means the booking for accommodation, functions and/or any other services or items made with us.

''Contract'' means the Booking and these Terms and Conditions stated to apply to the Booking.

''Hotel'' means the premises for which your Booking is made.

''Terms'' means these terms and conditions.

''Websites'' means www.anchorhotelandbars.co.uk or any other website owned or operated by us relating to a hotel from time to time.

''VAT'' means value added tax. 

  1. Bookings

All bookings at the hotel are subject to these Terms.

At the time of booking or at check-in, we will take your credit/debit card details and you authorise the use of this card for any sums that become owing to us. We shall also have the right to require full payment in advance or a deposit of £50 at the time of booking in certain circumstances or if the booking includes the supply of certain items or services. No booking shall be treated as confirmed until the details and/or payment/deposit described in this paragraph have been provided.

  1. Charges

The prices displayed on the websites are an average per night, per person until a rate is selected. Any meals, service or VAT (at the prevailing rate) are included only if specified. A minimum length of stay, deposit, cancellation charge and other conditions may apply to certain rates, as specified. Once a rate is selected on the websites, the total for your requested stay shall be displayed on the reservation summary. Prices shall be charged in the local currency of the hotel.

The VAT breakdown shown is indicative based on the current rate of VAT, and the expected VAT treatment of the goods or services. VAT will be payable at the prevailing rate applicable at the tax point of the invoice or Booking confirmation issued, and may change depending on the actual rate and the VAT treatment of the goods and services purchased at that date.

Price lists for additional items, such as restaurant meals and room service, are on display at relevant locations within the Hotel and are available on request.

  1. Check-in/ Check-out Requirements

In the interests of security and to prevent fraud, at the time of check-in, guests may be required to confirm their identity by providing their booking reference; their passport/identity card/driving license and a valid credit or debit card which will be scanned/copied in the presence of the card holder. If guests are travelling from outside the UK, Ireland or any country in the Commonwealth we are also obliged by law to require guests to provide the number and place of issue of your passport/identity card and details of their next destination. These records will be kept for at least 12 months and may be disclosed or made available for inspection by any police officer or as otherwise required by applicable law in connection with the prevention or investigation of crime. The information above may be requested for each member of your party over the age of 16 and we reserve the right to refuse entry to persons who cannot provide the information set out above.

Unless otherwise stated on the booking confirmation, Guests may check-in between the hours of 3.00pm and 7.00pm on the scheduled day of arrival. Please be aware that check-in destinations may change due to pre-arranged estimated times of arrival by the Guest. All rooms that have been secured by credit/debit card or prepaid at the time of booking will be held until 11.59pm on the scheduled day of arrival unless otherwise agreed directly with the Hotel. Any non-secured reservation will be held for exactly 1 hour at which time we will be entitled to re-let the room.

On the day of departure we kindly ask all guests to vacate their rooms by 10.30am (unless a later departure is stated as part of your Booking). Late check-out after this time can be requested subject to availability and will be charged at a set rate at the discretion of the hotel.

Rooms are subject to maximum occupancy rules set by the Hotel. If you would like further details please contact the Company or the Hotel.

  1. Payment – PLEASE NOTE  *Payments will show on your bank statement as - KLH LEISURE *

We accept the following methods of payment: credit cards: Visa, Maestro and Solo.

For advance purchase rates the card you booked with must be presented on arrival, along with the appropriate ID.

At the time of check-in we will authorise the accommodation charges. Any incidentals caused in the duration of your stay will be charged against your credit/debit card.

  1. Cancellation Policy and No Shows

The cancellation policy varies according to the rate that it is booked. Please refer to the individual full rate descriptions given at booking.

For rates marked as “standard rate” these you can cancel or modify without charge up to 7 days before the date of arrival. Cancellation and non-arrival charges apply after this and will be charged to the credit/debit card supplied at the time of booking. We reserve the right to charge for one nights accommodation per room booked if the above cancellation requirements are not met.

For rates marked “ Basic non-refundable” we require full prepayment for the entire stay at the time of booking and this is non-refundable and the booking non-changeable. Prepayment is charged to the credit/debit card supplied at the time of booking. Cancellation or non-arrival will result in the forfeiture of the prepayment.  

  1. Changes or Cancellation by the company

Very occasionally we may need to cancel your booking. In such circumstances you will be given a full refund but we shall have no further liability to you arising out of such cancellation. We will, however, use reasonable endeavours to try and re-locate and confirmed Booking cancelled by us to an alternative location similar in standard to the Hotel.

  1. Parking

As stated on our website, unfortunately we DO NOT have any parking facilities at our Hotel, however there are several Pay & Display long stay car parks and a private car park located very close to the Hotel. Please call us for further information on these.

  1. Guest Behaviour

Guests are requested to conduct themselves appropriately at all times. Guests are requested to respect and not disrupt the comfort and enjoyment of other paying guests in the Hotel, or cause offence to other guests or our members of staff. We reserve the right to refuse accommodation or remove you and members of your party from the Hotel if, in our reasonable opinion, we consider the provision to have been breached. Where this is the case we shall have no obligation to refund you for your lost accommodation.

  1. No Smoking

It is strictly prohibited for guests to smoke cigarettes or nicotine vaporising devices in rooms or public areas. There is a £100 fine for anyone caught doing so and they will also be asked to leave the hotel immediately with no refund. 

  1. Pets

No pets are allowed at this Hotel.

  1. Personal Information

All personal information stored and used by us is done in accordance with our privacy policy.

  1. Web Site Information

We aim to ensure the accuracy of information on our website and reserve the right to amend, cancel or vary any of the arrangements featured without notice.

  1. Force Majeure

The company accepts no liability and will not pay any compensation where the performance of its obligations is prevented or affected directly or indirectly by or as a result of force majeure or any circumstances beyond its reasonable control. Including, but not limited to flood, earthquake, extreme weather, natural disasters or acts of terrorism

  1. Deposits

A £50 non-refundable deposit is required for all general bookings made with the hotel and the remaining amount will be taken 7 days before check in.

  1. General Bookings

When booking directly with the hotel a £50 non refundable deposit will be required to secure the booking. Any bookings made 7 days or less with the hotel with require the full amount to be paid to secure the booking.

Declaration/Registration.

We reserve the right and you hereby authorise us to charge your debit or credit card for any damage incurred to your room or the Hotel during your stay (including without limitation specialist cleaning) or for any items that are missing when you leave, by signing our Registration form upon arrival you agree to these terms. 

Failing to sign the registration form could result in your booking being cancelled.

Data Protection & Privacy Policy

Our policy tells you how we use personal information collected at this site.  Please read this policy before submitting any personal information.  By using the site, you are accepting the practices described in this policy.  These practices may be changed, but any changes will be posted and changes will only apply to activities and information on a going forward, not retroactive basis.  You are encouraged to review the privacy policy whenever you visit the site to make sure that you understand how any personal information you provide will be used. Under the regulation the Information Commissioner has powers to issue notices where data controllers and/or data processors have contravened any of the data protection principles.  The main contraventions are likely to be unlawful reason for the collection of data, keeping data which is no longer required or where consent has been withdrawn/expired, unauthorised processing and/or disclosure of data.  Failure to comply with such a notice is an offence under the legislation and could result in large fines.

Introduction

The General Data Protection Regulation (2016/679EU) (GDPR) provides strict rules on what data can be held and how it should be gathered, processed, stored, deleted and rules regarding the free movement of personal data.

The company is committed to ensure that all personal data gathered is processed and managed in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation.  Every effort will be made to meet the obligations set out in legislation.

Images including CCTV footage, will also be covered by this policy.

Responsibilites

The Data controller will have the overall responsibility to ensure compliance with GDPR.  The Data Controller and the Data Processors will ensure the day to day activities of the company comply with GDPR and are responsible for:

  • Ensuring adequate systems are in place to comply with this policy
  • Keeping up to date with legislation and guidance regarding data protection
  • Arranging appropriate data protection training
  • Ensuring that consent for personal data processing is collected and are able to provide evidence upon request
  • Notifying individuals at the point of collection of how their personal data will be processed and stored, who will have access and how long it will be used for

Collection of information

We collect personally identifiable information like Names, Postal Addresses, Email addresses when voluntarily submitted by our visitors or guests at our venues.  The information you provide is used to fulfil your specific request.  This information is only used to fulfil your specific request, unless you give us permission to use it in another manner, ie: to add you to one of our mailing lists. 

Cookies

You can set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when websites set or access cookies.  If you disable or refuse cookies, please note that some parts of our website may become inaccessible or not function properly.

Distribution of Information

We may share information with governmental agencies or other companies assisting us in fraud prevention or investigation.  We may do so when:

  • Permitted or required by law 
  • Trying to protect against or prevent actual or potential fraud or unauthorised transactions
  • Investigating fraud which has already taken place

The information is not provided to these companies for marketing purposes.

Your personally identifiable information is kept secure.  Only authorised employees (who have agreed to keep the information secure and confidential) have access to this information.
